This annual award, which recognizes the best performing artists in Europe, will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Manchester, the home of the world's greatest music stars.
The nominees for the awards were announced in October, with Taylor Swift leading the way with seven nominations, while Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Lisa and Ayra Starr lost in four.
Taylor Swift was also very lucky because in the categories she competed in, she won four awards including 'Best Artist', 'Best Video', 'Best Live' and 'Best US Act'.
The winners were chosen by viewers of the MTV EMAs, through voting on its website. The "Best Video" award was the only one given because of MTV's choice.
Tyla has won three awards and continues to support many of the longest running artists in Africa and beyond. In the category of 'Best Afrobeats' he beat Nigerians including Asake, Ayra Starr, Burna Boy, Rema and Tems.
Tyla also won the 'Best African Act' award. Here he hunted Nigerians Asake and Ayra Starr; Tanzanian Diamond Platnumz and DBN Gogo and TitoM & Yuppe from South Africa.
The South African singer also beat the top US artists in the Best R&B category. Here she won the award beating Kehlani, SZA, Tinashe, Usher and Victoria Monét.
Eminem won the award for best male rapper alongside the likes of Central Cee, Kendrick Lamar, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott. It was during this time that Busta Rhymes was awarded the 'Global Icon' award as one of the most influential people in the world of music.
The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards [MTV EMAs] were held for the tenth time in history.
