These films made the Nigerian film industry known as 'Nollywood' world famous due to the skill these films were produced and the dominant message that the comedy contained. These films began to be made in the early 2000s. Some of the big names that appeared in these movies are Nkem Owoh, Sam Loco Efe, Osita Iheme popularly known as 'Pawpaw' and Chinedu Ikedieze 'Aki'.

This movie directed by Mc Collins Chidebe, tells the story of a young domestic worker named Akpuruka, who is harassed by his boss's daughter named Ijeoma. The movie features a strong cast including: Osita Iheme, Kenneth Chukwu, Nkiriku Sylvanus, A.B Cowboy, Deseree Opara, and Cyracus Okochi.
On the 4th place we find the movie called 'Ukwa'
This film was released in 2001 and tells the story of a villager called Ukwa, who was taken from the countryside by his rich older brother who took him to the city and changed his life. The movie stars Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwor, Amaechi Muonagor, Sam Loco Efe, Chinelo Ndigwe, and Rita Nzelu.
On the 3rd place we find the movie called '2 Rats'
This movie released in 2003, directed by Andy Chukwu, stars two very short guys, Osita Iheme who plays as (A-Boy) and Chinedu Ikedieze who plays as (Bobo), these two young boys. Their father died and was killed by their uncle called Ndukwe, who used to use them as domestic workers in their father's house. The movie stars many great actors including Patience Ozokwor, Andy Chukwu, Prince Nwafor, David Ihesie, Chidinma and Chidiebere Aneke, and Ricky.
On the 2nd place we find the movie called 'Baby Police'
Directed by Uzor Philips, it is a comedy film about a 6-year-old boy named 'Dada', who has been doing strange things like stealing from his neighbors and fighting with other children. This rural child continued to fail so much that his mother gave him to his older brother who lived in the city in Lagos to live with him. When Dada arrived in the city he did not change but continued to have a series of mistakes, including pretending to be a security officer (Police) and robbing people. The movie stars Osita Iheme popularly known as 'Pawpaw' who played Dada on which the movie is based.
On the 1st place we find the movie called 'Osuofia in London'
Osuofia in London is a 2003 comedy film directed by Kingsley Ogoro, which is one of the highest grossing films in the history of Nollywood cinema. The popularity of this movie led to a sequel in 2004 called 'Osuofia in London 2'. This film tells the story of a man who left Nigeria and found his brother Donatus who was living abroad in England. When Osuofia arrived at her brother's house, she found that Donatus' girlfriend named Samantha was ignorant of Nigerian customs and traditions, which made Osuofia do strange things, surprising Samantha. This movie features great actors including: Nkem Owoh who the movie is based on.
