On the evening of Wednesday, September 4th, France Football published the list of 30 players who will be selected for this year's award.
37-year-old Lionel Messi, who has won eight Ballon d'Ors, and 39-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won five (5), did not appear on this list of players.
It is a list of many different players who have done crazy things in the year 2024, as England played in the final of EURO 2024 with six of them. Spain won the European Cup with 6.
Since 2003, it is the first time that these two teams have been on the same list of 30 players, because at least one was missing and the other was included.
These 30 players are selected by a panel of journalists from each country in the top 100 in the FIFA men's rankings.
