All these matches took place at Kigali Pele Stadium, with the first match kicking off at 3:00 PM. It was a game between Rayon Sports, who were hosting Gasogi United. The match was not particularly entertaining, as neither side created many clear chances, with most of the play concentrated in the midfield. As a result, the game ended in a draw, with Rayon Sports dropping two points. This allows APR FC to continue chasing their rivals, Rayon Sports.
The second game, the Security Derby, saw Police FC host APR FC at 7:00 PM. Both teams started with attacking intent, but APR FC was more effective in front of goal. In the 7th minute, Ugandan forward Hakim Kiwanuka opened the scoring for APR. Early in the second half, in the 47th minute, striker Gjibril Ouattara doubled APR's lead.
APR FC continued to press forward and was awarded a penalty in the 55th minute. Ouattara confidently converted it, sending Police FC goalkeeper Niyongira Patience the wrong way.
Despite being three goals down, Police FC fought back. In the 89th minute, Msanga Henry scored a header to pull one back. Moments later, Police FC won a penalty that could have reignited their hopes, but Mugisha Didier's shot was saved by APR goalkeeper Ishimwe Pierre.
After 90 minutes, APR FC led 3-1, and four minutes of added time did not change the scoreline. With this victory, APR FC reduced the points gap with league leaders Rayon Sports to just two, setting up a thrilling showdown between the two rivals on Saturday, March 9, at Amahoro Stadium.
