The 2030 World Cup will be held in six countries on three different continents. The opening 3 matches of this World Cup are scheduled to be held in South America in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
This idea to increase these teams was presented by a member of the FIFA Council, when this meeting was coming to an end, it was decided that the idea will be studied next time, otherwise it will be considered if possible, and the teams will go from 48 to 64.
In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the World Cup, the first 3 matches will be held in South America, in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
The reason these 3 countries are selected is because Uruguay is the first country to host the World Cup, Argentina is the finalist, and Paraguay is the headquarters of the South American Football Confederation.
The opening match of the tournament will be played at the Estádio Centenário in Montevideo, where the first match of the World Cup was played in 1930.
After these 3 matches other matches will continue in Morocco, Portugal and Spain. This means that the 2030 World Cup should be held on the African continent, Europe and South America.
This is the first time in the history of the World Cup and all 6 host countries will be given a ticket to play it.
The increase in the number of teams that will participate in the 2030 World Cup comes after FIFA last increased the number of teams that will participate in the 2026 World Cup, from 32 to 48, in the World Cup that will be held in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
