On Tuesday, May 14, the CECAFA administration announced it through a press release.The Confederation of East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) has announced that the CECAFA Kagame Cup will be played in Tanzania from July 20 to August 4, 2024.

The management of CECAFA said that it has invited the teams that have won the league titles from the 12 associations that are part of the CECAFA family and added four (4) teams that were specially invited.

The last CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2021 is also held in Tanzania. The trophy was won by Express from Uganda beating Nyasa Big Bullets from Malawi 1-0.

The CECAFA Kagame Cup is a tournament supported by the President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul KAGAME. That is why it is named after him.

In the CECAFA KAGAME Cup Rwanda will be represented by Aprfc who recently won the championship this year.
