Singer Ayra Starr from Nigeria, is venturing into the film industry with her first movie, which is based on the popular 2018 novel 'Children of Blood and Bone' by Tomi Adeyemi.
She will be acting alongside internationally acclaimed actors, including Idris Elba, a British actor of Sierra Leonean descent who is widely recognized in the global film industry.
The cast also includes Viola Davis, one of the few Black entertainers to achieve EGOT status—winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards at different times in her career.
Additionally, Cynthia Erivo, a renowned actress and singer from Canada, will also be part of the movie.
The production of the film has already begun and is being handled by Lucasfilm, the studio behind the iconic 'Star Wars' franchise.
Ayra Starr, who is now entering the film industry, is already one of Africa’s top music stars, known for hit songs such as Away, Rush, Bloody Samaritan, and more.
