Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, was born on February 12, 1982, in Nkonzi Hospital, Uganda, was born to Jackson Wellington Ssentamu and Margaret Nalukuuma.
Bobi Wine grew up in a difficult life because he grew up to find his stepfather imprisoned. His father was wanted during the turmoil during the regime of the former President of Uganda, Milton Obote. And his mother-in-law worked as a midwife in the hospital.
After his father was released, he left prison. Bobi Wine's family then moved to Kamwokya area near Gomba village, this is where Bobi Wine grew up.

Bobi Wine's School
When Bobi Wine started primary school he went through more than 4 institutions including: St. Maria Goretti in Kamwokya, City Primary School, Islamic Primary School and Canon Umea Primary School. At the end of his primary school exams, he did it at St. Aloysius Primary School Bukalagi.
In high school, he didn't often change companies like he did in elementary school. Bobi studied at Kitante Hill School. Here he studied with Ugandan artists including, Bebe Cool, Toolman, and Mr Parrot.
Bobi Wine continued his studies at Makarere University where he studied social sciences in the Department of Anthropology and Political Science. After realizing her artistic talent, she added degrees in music, dance, and drama. This played an important role in his musical journey. In August 2024, Bobi obtained another Master's degree in law from Cavendish University in Uganda.

At the beginning of the year 2000, Bobi Wine joined Ugandan music where he made songs including: Akagoma, Funtula and Sunda with Ziggy D, which made him famous in Uganda. Especially popular with the youth, Bobi went through a popular group like (Fire Base Crew) for a while, because he then founded his own name (Ghetto Republic Of Uganja).
Bobi Wine achieved his dream in music in 2016 when he released a song called 'Kiwani' which was loved by many people around the world. Where this song is heard in the movie called "Queen Of Katwe" made by the world's biggest film production company, called (Disney).

Bobi Wine married Barbie Kyaguranyi in 2011 and they have 4 children namely: Solomon Kampala, Shalon Namagembe, Shadraq Shilling Mbogo and Suubi Shine Nakaayi.
Bobi Wine in Politics
Bobi Wine entered politics in April 2017, when he announced that he was going to run for the parliament of Uganda, in the transitional elections, Bobi Wine represented Kyadondo County.
Bobi Wine's campaign attracted a large following of supporters mainly from Uganda's opposition National Resistance Movement (NRM), as well as the Ugandan Forum For Democracy (FDC). a seat in the Ugandan parliament.
On July 24, 2019, Bobi Wine announced that he wants to run for the presidency of Uganda through his party called 'National Unity Platform' (NUP) in the 2021 general elections. because President Yowel Kaguta Museveni has been in power for a long time, he says that new blood is needed in Ugandan politics.
Bobi Wine was recently shot in the leg by the Ugandan Police while he was campaigning among his party members, on September 3, 2024 at Bulindo, in the Wakiso region as reported by members of his National Unity Platform (NUP) party. But the Ugandan Police denied shooting Bobi Wine saying that he was wounded in the leg while getting into his car, after causing chaos in Bulindo town.
