FERWAFA, through a statement released this Sunday morning, September 01, 2024, shed light on the number of foreigners who must play in Rwanda Premier league 2024-2025.
On August 29, members of the Rwanda Premier League wrote to FERWAFA asking them to respond to their request to increase the number of foreigners playing in the first division here in Rwanda, from 6 to 12. Before the auction closes.
In the past, FERWAFA informed the teams playing in the first division championship here in Rwanda that they are allowed ten (10) foreign players on the game sheet, but only six (6) are on the field. The other 4 went to the substitutes' bench and replaced their teammates.
Ferwafa said: "Changes to the regulations governing the Rwanda Premier league 2024-2025. Article 8.2."
They continued: "Teams in the first division are allowed to put on the game sheet no more than ten (10) foreign players and play no more than six (6) foreign players on the field."
This is one of the decisions made by different parties in Rwanda football. Especially the managers of the teams, due to the fact that many teams have signed many foreign players. Here we can say Police fc has fourteen (14), Apr fc has twelve (12) and other teams have a large number of foreign players.
The teams in the first division here in Rwanda have signed more than 70 foreign players, some of them were crazy.
