This was announced by Frank Torsten Spittler in an interview with the media, on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at the Peace Stadium.
Rwanda's national team will face Benin in the matches of the third and fourth day in the search for a ticket for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
When coach Frank Torsten was asked what he will change in front of the national team of Benin, Torsten refrained from saying too much and only said that he is confident of doing well because his team will raise the level every game.
“It is my second game against Benin. My team is improving every game so I hope they are still in their minds. We will do everything we can to ensure that they don't beat us, especially at home."
Rwanda's national team recently added a player, Johan Marvin Kurry who plays for Yverdon Sport FC of the First Division in Switzerland. However, the player has been suffering from a knee injury for a long time. The coach said that the doctors' reports show that he is in good health and they are waiting for the day to come and make a decision.
Coach Frank Torsten concluded by calling on the fans to turn out in large numbers, as the game was set for better hours than in the past. He said, "The fans really give us a lot of energy and I'm really looking forward to it because now we will play at 18:00, unlike the 15:00 we played last time. I hope we will have a lot of fans.”
In the last match between the two teams, Benin beat Rwanda 1-0 to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
It is planned that the National Team will depart from Kigali to Côte d'Ivoire in the flight on Wednesday, October 7, 2024.
