In an interview with Inyarwanda on YouTube on March 8, 2025, Bull Dogg, speaking with a tone of resignation, revealed that he had forgiven The Ben and moved on, despite the financial losses he incurred.
The fallout between Bull Dogg and The Ben dates back to 2020, when they worked on 'Lotate',Bull Dogg had wanted the song to be released at the time, but when he asked The Ben about it after the music video was completed, The Ben kept dodging him. Eventually, The Ben told Bull Dogg that he was working on a bigger project—a song titled 'Why' featuring Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
The Ben explained that he viewed 'Why' as a career-defining song that could open doors for him in Africa and the East African region, given Diamond’s influence as the leading artist in the Great Lakes region. As a result, he asked Bull Dogg to hold off on releasing 'Lotate' fearing it could overshadow 'Why'.
When asked why he didn’t attend The Ben’s concert on January 1, 2025, Bull Dogg said he was sick at the time. Pressed further about their ongoing feud, he sarcastically responded "He called me and apologized, saying we could work on another song since what happened had already happened."
He added, "If it didn’t work out, there’s nothing I can do. I forgave him because, honestly, what else could I do? He’s a big artist and wealthy I can’t compete with him in terms of money or influence, nor can I fight him."
"The fact that our song didn’t get released isn’t the end of the world. It didn’t stop me from making music, and I will continue to release new songs. I forgave him—not forgiving him wouldn’t change anything. People expect us to take pictures together as proof of reconciliation. Well, if he asks for that, I’ll show up and take the picture."
In a separate interview on March 3, 2025, The Ben confirmed that he had apologized to Bull Dogg multiple times, including through text messages. He revealed that he last called Bull Dogg on December 14, 2024, to ask for forgiveness and expressed his willingness to do whatever it takes to mend their friendship.
This isn’t the first time The Ben, has been accused of delaying music projects with fellow artists. In 2017, Bruce Melodie accused The Ben of disrespecting him when they were scheduled to record a song together. According to Bruce, he arrived at the studio only to find The Ben playing video games (PlayStation). The same scenario reportedly happened again in 2021 when they reunited at 'Country Records', yet the song never saw the light of day.
Many Rwandan music fans believe that artists, especially the femous, should set aside their differences and work together to elevate Rwandan music on the international stage instead of sabotaging each other’s progress.
