Today, May 20, 2024, striker Ani Elijah of Bugesera FC attended the amavubi training camp in Bugesera District in preparation for the amavubi 2 matches in the month of June. in search of a ticket to the 2026 World Cup.

Striker Ani Elijah, 24 years old from Nigeria, came to play in Rwanda from a team called Robi Stars that plays in the first division in Nigeria. This team in the 2023-2024 game year is in 5th place with 52 points.Ani Elijah came to Rwanda after parting ways with this club where he signed a contract with Bugesera FC in Eastern province.

Ani Elijah has been in Bugesera FC for one year, where he has scored 15 goals in the season, sharing with Victor Mbaoma of APR FC. This made him one of the top scorers in the last 2023-2024 game year, which also prompted the management of the Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) to come and help the Amavubi national team.

Striker Ani Elijah, although he did not appear in the list of 37 players called by Coach Frank, he found other players in the retreat that started today, May 20, 2024.

The amavubi national team is preparing for 2 matches against Benin and Lesotho next month, in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

This player, although he participated in this training camp, will not appear in the next two games because he has not received all the necessary documents to be allowed to play for amavubi.
